Homams are pujas performed for particular deity by Invoking Agni – the God of fire. It is said that when lord Brahma (the creator among the Trinity) created man. He also created “Homam” for man’s livelihood and his attainment of spiritual desires. The fundamental premise of Homam is derived from the Vedas, although, according to “Purusha Sooktham”. It is the other way around Vedas originated for Homam.
MAHA GANAPATHI HOMAM Lord Ganesha (elephant faced God) is always worshipped before starting any Pooja or Homa. Lord Ganesha removes all obstacles. Lord Ganesha is also known as ‘Vigneshwara’ [vigna + Eswara] which means the lord who removes all obstructions (Vighna).
LAKSHMI - KUBERA HOMAM - It is performed for the purpose of gaining legitimate wealth. Those who are involved in business or are facing financial problems may perform this Homam to receive the blessings and grace of Goddess Lakshmi.
SANTHANA HOMAM is dedicated to Lord Mahavishnu. None other than Lord Maha Vishnu himself bestowed knowledge of this homa on Sanatkumara, who in turn instructed this to sage Bodhayana.
RUDRA HOMAM The Sri Rudram chant is an ancient Vedic hymn, and is the oldest example of a listing of various names of Lord Siva. Through the chanting of Sri Rudram, Lord Sivas various attributes and aspects are invoked and worshipped. Chanting the Rudram is considered to be of great benefit.
